Logging and Post-Logging in Central Pennsylvania

Logging and Post-Logging in Central Pennsylvania - Encyclopedia Live
Presented by Ben Cramer
This talk will focus on the economic forces that resulted in the widespread destruction of Central Pennsylvania’s forests, followed by the efforts of state officials and citizens to rehabilitate forests for their recreational and ecosystem benefits while transforming logging into a more economically sustainable industry. Cramer has written several articles for Centre County Encyclopedia, including one on the history of logging in the region. On Sunday October 4, Cramer will give a presentation titled Logging and Post-Logging in Central Pennsylvania.
